Metro GM Darryl Davis just clued me in to a good event coming up Saturday, Feb. 24.
There will be a free golf clinic for young people from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. There will be four one hour clinics covering the fundamentals of golf. These clinics will start at 10:20, 11:45, 1:00, and 2:15. It's a first-come, first-served sort of deal, with a limit of 25 people per session. Range balls and equipment will be provided.
This Black History Month event is sponsored by Metropolitan Golf Links, Urban Services YMCA, The Port of Oakland Oakland Parks & Recreation, Metropolitan Junior Golf Program, Oakland Babe Ruth, More Choices Inc, Town Business Network, CourseCo Inc, and the Oakland Turfgrass Education Initiative (OTEI).
